WHAT: An open mic community forum with a panel of government officials and industry professions to discuss water usage plans and water supply in Georgia
WHEN: Wednesday, December 5th, 2007, 7pm – 8:30pm
WHERE: City of Alpharetta – City Hall
2 South Main Street, Alpharetta, Georgia 30004
Atlanta, GA – Much of North Fulton County is under a Level 4 drought warning and water has been heavily restricted as Georgia’s worst drought on record continues. Estimates range from 3-6 months on Georgia’s water supply and residents and businesses are being adversely affected by the shortage.
A panel of local and state government officials, task force planners and industry professionals will join together for a public forum panel discussion on Wednesday, December 5th at 7pm. The panel will include State Senator Ross Tolleson (R-20), Fulton County District 3 Commissioner Lynne Riley, Charles McMillan (President of Engineering and Land Planning Firm AEC, Inc.), Georgia Irrigation Association President Ed Klaas, The Weather Channel Severe Weather Expert Dr. Greg Forbes, Russell Landscaping Owner Teddy Russell, Rick Gilma of Killer Creek Car Wash and one undetermined seat. It will be moderated by local Atlanta talk radio personality Joel Aaron of WGKA. The goal for the evening will be to offer common-sense suggestions for residential and industrial water conservation and provide a forum for discussion about possible solutions to water supply shortages. The panel will answer questions from concerned citizens in the area.
For more information please contact Joel Foster, 920am WGKA, at 404-995-7329 or Robert Rokovitz, Assistant City of Alpharetta Administrator, at 678-297-6014.

What a great way to be able to say thanks to our heroes!
If you go to this web site, Let’s Say Thanks you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can’t pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.
How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! This is a great site. Please send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them.

For some reason I’ve been contacted a number of times by people who have found abandoned dogs that need homes. I’ve been extremely lucky and have been able to place a few of these dogs in loving homes. The trick to this success can only be attributed to getting the message out to the masses. When I receive an email about a dog (or any other pet) needing a home I send out a blast email to about 1,000+ people (friends, neighbors, parents of my childrens’ classmates, co-workers, past clients, vendors, you name ‘em I send ‘em an email.) Basically, if their email address is in my database they receive an email. I’m not shy (you probably knew this already) and figure people can easily press “delete” if they aren’t interested. The key is in the numbers!
At this point you’re probably wondering why the title mentions two kids, well here’s why…
Zack and Thomas Eller are two kids our city can be proud of. Zack and Thomas run a business called Woof ‘em Down Homemade Dog Biscuits. It’s been said that pets and people can’t resist Woof ‘em Down Dog Biscuits because they are made fresh in their barkery using peanut butter, flour, applesauce and eggs. And the really great thing about this company is that all the profits go to Aiding and A-Petting, a pet rescue organization.
See the connection?
You can buy their product on line at woofemdown dogbiscuits.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season. Black Friday ads are usually kept secret until the circular in your Thanksgiving Day newspaper. However at Black-Friday, they give you the advantage by showing you all of the Black Friday 2007 ads before anyone else and they offer direct links to each product so you can purchase the items online on Black Friday without having to stand in line at the store!

I don’t know about you, but I’m already thinking about the toys that I can buy for my children, nieces and nephews this holiday season. I’m worried about the news about lead paint, etc.
Here are some websites you might want to check out to find out the latest safety information:
Mattel
ToysRUs
EToys
American Specialty Toy Retail Association
FAO Schwarz (FAO Schwarz tells you where toys are made, so you can shop by country)
If you know of any other good sites on this topic please add them in the comments section.
Information is power!
Happy shopping!
