Groundbreaking Ceremony for new High School in Johns Creek

October 26th, 2007 · No Comments

Article posted on Monday, October 15th on Fulton School web site stated the following:

“A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for a new high school in Johns Creek, the first school to be built since the area officially became a city last year. The event is set for Monday, November 5, at the construction site, which is located on State Bridge Road near the Medlock Bridge Road intersection. The ceremony begins at 1 p.m.

The public is invited to view plans of the new school, as well as hear from school officials about the school’s planned features. Refreshments will be served following the presentation and groundbreaking activities. Comfortable shoes with low heels are recommended due to gravel and some possibly muddy areas on the site.

The 321,197-square-foot school was designed by the architectural firm of Chapman Griffin Lanier Sussenbach, with Reid Construction currently preparing the site for construction. When it opens in August 2009, the school will house up to 1,860 ninth through twelfth grade students.

In the event of inclement weather, the groundbreaking ceremony will be rescheduled to Wednesday, November 7, at 10 a.m.”

Hope to see you there!
